What inspired us to open a real estate firm in the first place?Jerry and I started the company. It was the natural outgrowth of our long-term real estate experiences and love of Greenwich. We moved to Greenwich in 1968. I continued my interior design work, redecorating homes as well as several restaurants. Soon Jerry, my father and I began purchasing homes that needed renovation. Our first home renovations were primarily cosmetic improvements. As we gained experience we did bigger, bolder projects - second floor additions and one 7,000 sq. ft. home from scratch. These experiences inspired us to share with others our real estate expertise and success.
We saw the need to SpecializeIn the 1980's most of the Greenwich firms were independent. By the 1990's they had been gobbled up by national franchises. Jerry and I decided there was a need for an independent firm specializing in Greenwich real estate. A firm with personal service. One that really knew and concentrated only on Greenwich. One that could help buyers and sellers use our knowledge to get the best from their real estate investments. With this goal, we opened Anderson Associates.
Why did we say no to franchises?With the success of our firm, the major real estate franchises began to call—and continue to call—asking us to join them. The incentives they offer, for instance, technology and programs, are not even close to what we are already doing. Being leaders in technology is one of our joys. As an independent firm we can more easily structure our systems and technology to meet the needs of our clients. We are not constrained by layers of hierarchy or national service fees. Our offices are in Greenwich. Jerry and I are always available.

Our design analysis is done by a professional interior designer who teaches "How to Increase your Home's Value" for Greenwich Continuing Education. Our price estimates are professionally prepared. Selling a home requires a great deal of attention and energy. When direct supervision is not convenient for you, we can help. Once you have decided to sell a home, we make it happen efficiently, quickly, profitably and with minimum effort on your part. The real estate commission agreed on at the time of the listing is our only compensation.
If needed, we will watch over your home while it is on the market. If it is vacant, we will check it frequently to be sure the systems are operating properly. If something appears out-of-order, we will call the appropriate service person. We will sweep sidewalks, pick up newspapers and change lights to give your home a cared for appearance.
Buying a Home
The Anderson Associates Private Client Group: Traditionally, all Realtors, whether listing or selling, represented the seller. Realtors were the seller’s agent or sub-agent. However, the rules of Agency (who the Realtor represents and what their duties are) have been changing rapidly over the last few years.
